SULTANA PROJECTS’ ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Sultana Projects, an educational non-profit based in Chestertown, MD, offers unique opportunities to learn about the rich history, culture and environment of the Bay.  Each year more than 15,000 students of all ages take part in Sultana’s programs.  Whether sailing aboard the 1758 reproduction schooner Sultana, the “Schoolship of the Chesapeake” or exploring the Bay’s waterways in a canoe or kayak with John Smith Expeditions, students have an opportunity to learn first-hand about the natural treasure that is the Chesapeake Bay.

An individual contribution, or one from the whole crew, will go to support Sultana’s award-winning programs.

As a way of saying thank you, Sultana Projects is offering any individual contributing $100 or more to be their guest for a sail aboard Sultana for an Evening sail on September 12.

Your contribution of $100 or more also entitles you to  the following membership premiums;

A contribution of $100:  You and your Mate will become a Midshipman and member of the SHIPMATES, entitling you to a discount for four people on a two-hour public sail aboard the 97-foot schooner Sultana.  You will also receive the newsletter, Shipmates, and invitations to member-only events.  Your tax-deductible contribution will be acknowledged with a thank you letter.

A contribution of $500:  You and your Mate will receive a gift membership at the level of Lieutenant, giving you a discount for up to six people on a two-hour sail on Sultana, plus the benefits listed above.

A contribution of $1000:  You and your mate will be invited to join the Captain’s Table, a very special group of Sultana supporters. You will receive invitations to exclusive Captain Table’s events, plus you may sail on any of the Sultana’s public sails at no charge for one year.

Individual contributors of $500 or more will be invited to sail on Sultana during Downrigging Weekend during the parade of tall ships on the Chester River on either Saturday, Nov. 1 or Sunday, Nov. 2.  You will receive an invitation to be our guest at a special Sultana Shipyard dinner with crews’ of the visiting tall ships and historic vessels.
